Decentralised household level water supply

Decentralised (point of use) householdlevel water supply

The worldwide growth of mostly urban population in the coming years and the resulting growing need for clean drinking, household and industrial water is asking for specific solutions such as differentiated water supply. Decentralised (point of use) household level concerns the delivery of drinking water to households. For rural and peri-urban areas in developing countries, (bottom of the pyramid) this concerns simple, robust, low-cost solutions. In more developed areas it concerns upgrading of technology to point of use (top of pyramid). Competition in the international market is strong and entry is difficult.
